Trotton Players First Play Reading – Trouble in Trotton
On 15th April 2026, Trotton Players held their very first play reading at the Elsted Inn, marking an exciting beginning for our new village theatre group. The evening brought together a fantastic mix of local talent to read through Trouble in Trotton, a brand-new comedy set right here in the heart of rural Sussex.
Trouble in Trotton follows the drama, rivalries, and secrets of village life, building towards a surprising and humorous whodunnit. Hearing the script come to life for the first time was a brilliant experience, with laughter, lively discussion, and a real sense of community spirit throughout the night.
The Trotton Players are passionate about creating opportunities for local people to get involved in theatre, and this first reading of Trouble in Trotton was a huge step forward. With rehearsals underway and excitement building, we’re looking forward to bringing Trouble in Trotton to the stage and welcoming audiences to enjoy this unique village production.
Supporting TASC
Trotton Players are proud to be supporting Trotton with Chithurst Parish Council (TASC), with all proceeds from Trouble in Trotton going directly towards their work within the local community.
TASC is made up of dedicated local councillors who volunteer their time to support and represent the parish. Through regular meetings and ongoing initiatives, they play an important role in maintaining services, supporting residents, and helping to keep village life running smoothly.
By attending the performance, you’re not only enjoying an evening of laughter and village drama—you’re also contributing to the continued care and support of the Trotton community.
